A great excitement and a lot of hot blood was evoked from the report of the Revision Committee. Among the most important decisions of the conference was: the onshlus of the Artists Union without the central Yiddish cultural office; the resolution against the vexations of the Yiddish theatre; addressing itself to the appropriate power, they should be permitted to take a greater amount of fees from all the Yiddish theatre productions, concerts, etc., as besides this, it is determined to organize a theatre archive, to revive the union library, to give out by itself or in partnership with related institutions a theatre journal and publish an annual theatre almanac. The new management [of the union] was chosen: Dr. Michael Weichert, Isaak Samberg, Zishe Kac, Itzhak Nozyk, R. Lui, Moshe Karpinowicz, Wolf Neuhaus, B. Bialkowicz. There was also chosen a revision committee and a "friends-court." |
