Testimony
" [Mae Schoenfeld] made her stage debut at the age of
three, while on tour with her actor parents, Benjamin and
Lena Schoenfeld. She appeared in Yiddish classics and
contemporary plays, sometimes with her husband, Irving
Jacobson, who played Sancho Panza in the original cast of
the Broadway musical, "Man of La Mancha."
In 1959 [she] appeared with
Molly Picon in "The Kosher Widow" at the Anderson Theater.
She and her husband owned and
operated the National and Second Avenue Theatres in New York
City. Her last appearance on stage was in "Enter Laughing"
with Alan Arkin, during the play's national tour."
